Heidi M. Klein, founder of HK Consulting, Inc., possesses over 20 years of experience in public health practice, public engagement, and collaborative planning. Working with leaders at the national, state and local level, she designs programs and policies which recognize the interconnection between public health, environmental protection and economically vibrant communities.

Ms. Klein formerly served as Director of Public Policy at the Snelling Center for Government, Director of Field Operations for the Vermont Department of Health, Associate Director and Director of Environmental Health at the National Association of County and City Health Officials. She earned a Master of Science in Public Health, with a focus in Community Health Education, at the University of Massachusetts, School of Public Health and a BA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan.

Ms. Klein’s volunteer work includes numerous leadership positions with the American Public Health Association, the Vermont Public Health Association and Vermont’s Voices for Children (formerly the Vermont Children’s Forum).
